Hiking and Yoga at Shades
Join Jamie Douglas in this opportunity to mix invigorating trail hiking with a mat-free asana practice.Yoga helps regular hikers become more limber, mindful and aligned. Hiking offers greater lung capacity and overall fitness to yogis who tend to do a less aerobic mat practice. What’s more, You’ll savor nature as you deepen your yoga practice.
Doing yoga on unfamiliar turf brings other benefits as well. Learning to stay focused enough to practice yoga outside amid distractions like noise and weather is good training for staying attentive and flexible off the mat.

Yin Yoga and Reiki
A slow, meditative yoga practice that helps you unravel deep-seated tension, Yin focuses on seated or reclined postures held for three to five minutes. You will slowly soften into the pose at a pace that feels good for your body.
Once settled into these positions, participants are invited to experience Reiki, a technique that brings relaxation and balance to the body.
Yin Yoga is lead by one of Quest for Balance Wellness' teachers in collaboration with Julianne (j) Miranda, Usui Reiki Master Teacher.

Mindful Drumming
The first sound we hear as emerging beings is the sound of our mother’s heartbeat. In this way, rhythm is an essential and primal part of our way of being. Mindful drumming combines this lived experience with the concept of the circle as understood by First Nations and Indigenous cultures as a means to both heal and to create community. Led by circle keeper and studio owner, Julianne (j), we blend drumming, breath work, meditation, and compassion for others in a relaxed and friendly space.
