Grief Education & Workshops
Understanding grief changes how we respond to it — in our own lives and in the lives of the people around us. Healing at the Center ™ offers grief education for two audiences: community members navigating loss in their personal lives, and helping professionals who encounter grief in their work every day.
Workshops and learning series are available in person throughout Indiana and surrounding regions and virtually for participants across the country. Many community programs are offered at no cost through grant-funded partnerships.
Community Focused Grief Education
Community focused grief education workshops deliver general grief education to the public. These programs address the questions and challenges that come with navigating grief in everyday life: understanding different types of loss, supporting a grieving friend or family member, advance care planning, and more.
Many community workshops are offered free of charge through grant-funded programming in Putnam County and Montgomery County. Others may have a nominal registration fee.
Whether you’re processing your own grief or want to be better prepared to support someone you love, these workshops offer practical knowledge in an accessible manner.
Professional Education
Many helping professionals — such as social workers, healthcare providers, first responders, clergy, and HR managers — regularly support people experiencing grief in their work. Yet many have had limited opportunities for formal training in how to navigate these moments with confidence and care.
Professional education workshops are designed for individuals in high-impact positions including first responders, healthcare providers, and community leaders . These sessions build grief care competency through evidence-based content customized to the realities of your work. Programs may be free or have a registration fee depending on the topic and funding.

Bring Grief Education to Your Organization
If your organization, school, healthcare system, faith community, or agency would benefit from grief education, we would welcome the conversation. We work with organizations to design workshops and presentations tailored to their audience, their challenges, and their goals.

Grief Through The Holidays:
The season that assumes everyone is gathering. Practical ways to handle traditions that no longer fit, relatives who mean well, and the empty chair — plus permission to opt out of any of it.
