Laura Conners
Gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga.
Artist and co-owner of Split Cedar Studios, Laura Conners has been a yoga practitioner since 1994, and teaching since 2007. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Cityoga of Indianapolis, IN and her 500-hour certification through the Mindfulness Yoga & Meditation Program at Spirit Rock Center of California in 2012. Laura teaches Hatha yoga with an emphasis on mindfulness, a practice that combines breath awareness and movement to increase flexibility and strength, promote greater ease and concentration, and create relaxation and balance in the body and mind. Classes: Gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga.
Chenel Darby
Yoga for Balance and Strength, Power Yoga, Yoga for Everyone, special classes and events
Drawing on her background as a health coach, yoga facilitator, and public speaker, Chenel provides specialized classes that integrate wellbeing, yoga, and exercise science. Chenel is founder and CEO of Choice Wellness Company.
Kimarie Green
Chair Yoga, Gentle Yoga
Kim Green began her yoga practice with Diane Ault in 2004 and returned to yoga again at Quest for Balance Wellness in 2017. Kim completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Indiana Yoga in Lebanon, IN in October of 2018. Kim’s practice is strongly influenced by Laura’s gentle and mindful approach and Jeanne’s continuous learning and sharing of innovative ways to move. “It gets me grinning. I am delighted to have this opportunity to practice with you at such a warm and inviting studio. And so many great props!”
Brittany McDaniel
Gentle Yoga, All Levels Vinyasa, Special Classes
Brittany is a long-time yoga practitioner who is committed to helping others discover the gift of yoga on their mat. She taught for 3 years in Waynetown, IN before coming to the studio. Born and raised in Crawfordsville, she raised her two daughters here as well. In addition to teaching yoga, she owns Beauty Mark studio.
Tai chi
Liz recently completed her certification with Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute. She uses her background teaching Anatomy and Physiology to explore how Tai Chi benefits the whole person. She also draws on her Karate training to understand the Martial Arts part of Tai Chi, appreciates how valuable it is as a form of exercise and how it connects many self-care practices. Liz has a Bachelor of Science in Sport Science and a Master of Science in Neurobiology/Physiology.
Power Yoga, All Levels Vinyasa
Jackie Salois, RYT-200, began her yoga journey in 2013 after a running injury and quickly fell in love with the practice. She teaches power vinyasa and vinyasa flow, offering dynamic, breath-centered classes that are both fun and grounding. Jackie is excited to join Quest for Balance Wellness and share her love of yoga with the community.
Chair Yoga, Certified Grief Facilitator
Michelle completed her 200-hour yoga training with Christine Yovanovich at Indiana Yoga Studio in 2019. She teaches four classes, including chair yoga at Presbyterian Church on the Square in Rockville, and independently through Be The Light Yoga. In 2025, she became a certified Grief Facilitator through Quest for Balance Wellness and will lead grief groups at the studio in 2026.
Kelly Shea
Certified Grief Facilitator
Local author Kelly Shea joins the studio as a certified grief facilitator. Kelly's passion for words and images informs her work with others who are grieving. Passionate animal lover, her groups will include pet loss and related topics. Kelly recently published a collection of poetry, "Here, My Voice"
Mindfulness Meditation, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
Founder of Mindful in Moco, Neil Schmitzer-Torbert contributes mindfulness meditation classes. A trained Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher, he offers an 8 week intensive MBSR course. Neil is a Wabash faculty member and has lived with his family here in Crawfordsville since 2006. Learn more about Neil at mindfulinmoco.com
Sherry Mou
Tai chi
Sherry led Tai chi practices from 2019-2024. She is faculty emerita at DePauw University where she chaired the East Asian Languages Department and taught Chinese. Sherry continues to support the Tai chi program by contributing video presentations on the Tao Te Ching as part of our current Tai chi program.
