Registration Deadline: April 6

Rediscover your family's history and transform cherished heirlooms into unique pieces of wearable jewelry in our "Modern Heirlooms Workshop." This hands-on experience invites you to delve into the rich and vibrant history of your family's story, breathing new life into family keepsakes and introducing you to the process of designing contemporary jewelry.

In this 2 hour workshop, you will:

  • Discover Your Family's Story: Begin with a journey into your family's past, exploring the significance of heirlooms and understanding the stories they carry.
  • Explore the Design Process: Experience being a jewelry designer as our artisan guides you through the process of conceptualizing unique pieces from any items that honor your family's legacy. Examples of some items could be silverware, platters, medals, or eyeglasses. If you can’t decide, bring several items and together we will find the possibilities.
  • Receive Guidance: Katie will give you advice on styling and refining your designs to suit your individual taste, ensuring your creations are both beautiful and enduring and Jai will help you touch the grief that can emerge in the process.

This is a design workshop, but we will also attend to grief that can emerge in the process of acknowledging that the beautiful pieces with which we are working come to us through significant loss. At the end of the workshop, Katie can take your design back to her studio to create your custom heirloom jewelry, each piece a testament to your family's heritage, to wear and remember always. No prior jewelry design experience is necessary; this workshop is designed for participants of all skill levels.

At the end of the workshop, Katie can take your design back to her studio to create your custom heirloom jewelry, each piece a testament to your family's heritage, to wear and remember always. Please note that the pricing for your jewelry starts at $50, and the final cost will depend on the complexity of the design and materials used.
